As Cyberpunk combines many different genres, we believe a wide range of players will enjoy this game. From its deep RPG mechanics and dialogue options to action-packed shootouts and tense stealth missions, Cyberpunk 2077 will have an attractive option for everyone.
If you are eagerly looking forward to that launch, like we are, here are ten things about you’ll find exciting.
1. Gameplay Choices
Cyberpunk 2077 will give players complete control over how they want to approach missions. For example, if you need to get past an area, you can silently take down enemies, go in guns blazing or hack their turrets to do the job for you.
In certain scenarios, you can even talk your way out of trouble or open a new path by ripping out a door with your bare hands. These are just the tip of the iceberg from the real Cyberpunk experience as the full game will give us complete freedom in its vast world and let you decide your own fate.
2. Replayability
With its three different character backstories, vast world, branching story paths, and nearly limitless gameplay choices, it will be nearly impossible to experience Cyberpunk 2077 to completion in one playthrough.
This will make it replayable as two playthroughs can look entirely different based on the choices you made. For example, if you choose a different Lifepath, play a different class and pick different dialogue options in your second playthrough, you will experience a completely new game.
3. Next-Gen Graphics
As it will be one of the first games to come out in the new generation of consoles, Cyberpunk 2077 will give us an extensive preview of what awaits us in this generation. CD Projekt Red’s brand-new REDengine 4’s power can be seen in the gameplay videos.
From simple weapon textures and character models to global illumination and facial expressions, it seems like a real-life Cyberpunk experience is on the way.
4. Living City
While Cyberpunk 2077’s map will be slightly smaller than The Witcher 3’s, its city will be way more densely-packed. From its tall buildings and nightclubs to dark alleyways and suburbs, there will be a different story to be experienced in each corner of Night City.
Apart from chasing main missions, you will be able to pick random street fights, help strangers, or just chill in a club and experience the city’s story however you want.
5. Soundtrack
Cyberpunk 2077’s main score is being led by Marcin Przybyłowicz, who was also the lead composer of The Witcher 3. Plus, the in-game music will feature many talented, popular artists like Grimes, ASAP Rocky, Rat Boy, and Tina Guo.
Judging from this information and the music we heard in the game’s trailers and gameplay videos, we can confidently say that Cyberpunk 2077’s soundtrack will successfully capture its atmosphere.
6. Characters
If there is one thing CD Projekt Red is known for, it is making memorable, well-written, and fleshed-out characters. It was The Witcher 3’s strongest point and it seems like Cyberpunk 2077 will be no different.
You will meet many unique characters in your playthrough, each with a different personality, motivation, and behavior toward you. How you want to approach them will be completely in your control, from the decisions you make during gameplay to the dialogue options you choose.
7. Game length
As a strict single-player title, Cyberpunk 2077 will focus purely on delivering a content-rich experience. Even though we still don’t know how long the story will be, one of the developers reported that his playthrough surpassed 175 hours, and he is still not done with the game.
Considering the game’s vastness, gameplay variety, and branching narratives, this will be the case for many players as they will spend dozens, maybe hundreds of hours in the game’s story, side quests, and exploration.
8. Gripping Story
In Cyberpunk 2077, you will play as V, a mercenary outlaw that’s after a unique implant that is said to be the key to immortality. You will meet many different groups and characters, form allegiances, make enemies and discover this post-apocalyptic America during the story.
As CD Projekt Red is known to be a master in writing and storytelling, we can confidently say that this game will be like Cyberpunk in real life.
9. Lifepaths
One of the biggest contributors to the game’s replayability will be the Lifepaths. Essentially, you will be given 3 backstory choices at the start of the game: Nomad, Street Kid, or Corpo. Each of these Lifepaths will have different opening sections to set the story.
While they will all connect to the main game the same way, their character connections, dialogue options, and opportunities will be different. Your Lifepath will change how you see the world and how the world sees you.
10. Tools of destruction
As it is set in the future, Cyberpunk 2077 will feature a large arsenal of unique futuristic weapons. From heat-seeking SMGs and wall-penetrating sniper rifles to thermal katanas and cyborg hands that rip out turrets, you will have a massive amount of choice in violent encounters.
