Immortal Fenyx Rising is a popular game and funny too. Moreover, it’s available on all popular platforms – PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia.
If you’ve been thinking of purchasing it, here are ten things to look forward to:
1. Gorgeous World
The map of Immortals Fenyx Rising has seven different areas with distinct aesthetic properties. All of these seven areas are based on different Greek gods present in the game, and each feels and looks very distinct.
From azure mountains and desert lands to green lands and snowy areas, all of them have varied characters and house different monsters and points of interest for you to explore.
2. Beautiful Graphics
Immortals Fenyx Rising is a soothing game to look at. Despite its cartoon-style graphics, both the environment and the characters look very detailed. On top of that, almost every color in the game pops out beautifully without looking too saturated.
When you combine this with high-resolution textures and detailed particle effects, you get a visual style that will be loved universally by both adults and teens.
3. Fast-Paced Combat
The combat in Immortals Fenyx Rising never gets old or boring. The base gameplay loop of constant attacks, parries, and dodges is already fun, but it expands tremendously as the game goes on and your character progresses.
Parrying an enemy, dodging attacks barely to slowdown time, or smashing your opponents with mid-air combos is always a lot of fun. You can even hurl boulders at your enemies or throw them from high ground.
4. Satisfying Progression
As you explore, solve puzzles, defeat enemies and progress the story, Fenyx will gradually gain upgraded stats, new abilities, and unique gear. These can range from a simple weapon upgrade to a whole new move or a stat upgrade, which can have a huge impact on gameplay.
This progression system is nothing new, of course, but it is very well-implemented with just enough depth for it to stay rewarding until the very end of the game.
5. Godly Powers
On top of standard progression like leveling up your weapons and improving your stats, Fenyx can also gain unique and powerful abilities called Godly Powers. There are seven Godly Powers in the game, and each of them belongs to a god that is present in the story.
All of these powers change the gameplay drastically and open up brand new ways to approach enemies and other obstacles. For example, Athena’s Dash lets you dash around while Herakles’ Strength lets you pick up large objects and throw them around.
6. Exploration
Of course, a gorgeous map doesn’t mean much when the exploration and movement mechanics aren’t smooth and rewarding. Luckily, Immortals Fenyx Rising nails this too. Our character, Fenyx, can climb almost anywhere with enough stamina. You can also use your wings to glide around the map and ride the legendary Pegasus around the world later on.
7. Light-Hearted Story
Immortals Fenyx Rising follows a very simple and easy-to-follow story. While it isn’t unique or riveting in any way, it serves its purpose well and doesn’t get in the way of gameplay too much.
It is mostly carried by its characters and dialogue, which are interesting and funny enough to move the story forward. This gives you enough motivation to follow the main quests and save this world from the claws of Typhon.
8. Funny Dialogue
An important aspect that makes you look forward to different character interactions is the dialogues. The game rarely takes itself seriously with its constant bantering, and few dialogues end without any jokes.
This may get old after a while for some people, but the way Immortals Fenyx Rising plays with legendary gods and their mythos stays funny enough to keep the story interesting throughout its runtime.
9. Hilarious Characters
Speaking of dialogue, almost all of the characters you will meet in Immortals Fenyx Rising is funny in a different way. While none of them is extremely memorable, they all have distinct personalities that highlight their place in this world. Plus, their personalities actually reflect their personality traits from Greek mythology in some ways, which is a cool touch.
10. Greek Mythology
If you are a fan of Greek mythology, you will like this game even more. While the plot doesn’t dive deep into the actual mythology, there are many clever references to it throughout the game. If you are knowledgeable about the subject, you can find small bits of details from the actual mythos.
On top of that, there are more noticeable references, like the Myth Mosaics you can find around. Once you solve these, Prometheus actually gives small bits of trivia regarding the characters seen on the mosaics.
