1. Gotham Knights
WB Games Montreal’s next Batman game is coming out in 2021, but it won’t feature Batman at all. In this new Arkham, Batman has been killed, and our four heroes, Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing and Red Hood, will take the matter into their hands.
According to the developers, this will be the most interactive and dynamic title in the series yet. With each of the four knights having different movesets and skill trees, players will have a lot of gameplay options. Plus, the game will support 2-player online co-op.
2. S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2
The beloved S.T.A.L.K.E.R series is finally making a return in 2021. It’s been 11-years since the Call of Pripyat in 2009. Set in an alternative Chernobyl that’s full of mutants and radiation, S.T.A.L.K.E.R games focus on atmosphere, immersion, and realistic gunplay.
Even though we don’t have much info on S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, it will surely follow its predecessors’ footsteps. You can expect a mature story, gripping environments, and immersive survival mechanics.
3. Back 4 Blood
If you are one of those players that have been waiting for the third Left 4 Dead game for years, we have some good news. Turtle Rock Studios, the original makers of Left 4 Dead, are developing Back 4 Blood. And it’s coming out in 2021.
Expect a humorous cast of characters, tight gunplay, and hundreds of zombies. Of course, Back 4 Blood will add many new things to the formula. The “Extreme Replayability” mode, for example, will introduce an AI Game Director that will learn players’ playstyle and change the game accordingly.
4. Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
The first Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines was a fantastic RPG, and few games have matched it ever since. The legendary series is making a comeback this year with Bloodlines 2, and the series’ fans can wait to plunge into the dark world of vampires once again.
Just like its predecessor, Bloodlines 2 will be a proper RPG. So you will have many choices in terms of your character’s abilities and story. Plus, the way you will interact with the world and its characters are quite impactful. And yes, you can replay this PC game with branching story paths and different outcomes. Every. Single. Time.
5. Hitman 3
The conclusion to the rebooted Hitman trilogy is finally set to arrive in early 2021. In this grand finale, we will once again control Agent 47 and go after our targets around the globe while assuming many different identities.
The beloved sandbox gameplay will also return. With it come, countless options to approach missions, gather information and assassinate targets. With the next-gen consoles’ strength, players will have even bigger maps to play in, and therefore, more gameplay options.
6. Resident Evil 8: Village
The famous Resident Evil series is getting its 8th installment in 2021. Considering Capcom’s success with the series lately, gamers are very excited. In Village, Ethan from RE7 returns and is trapped in a creepy gothic village with werewolves, zombies, and possibly supernatural beings.
Since the action-filled days of the Resident Evil series are long gone, prepare for immersive and haunting survival horror. Judging from the trailers, we will also see the comeback of the series hero Chris Redfield, who may or may not be the hero we remember him as.
7. Far Cry 6
Starring the famous actor Giancarlo Esposito as a ruthless dictator, Far Cry 6 will be set on a fictional Caribbean Island. You will take control of a guerilla fighter named Dani Rojas who’s fighting to topple Anton Castillo and his dictatorship.
As a series classic, you will be thrown into a hostile open world. You will have many options in terms of how you want to take your island back. With its gripping and mature story with gray areas, gameplay choices and immersive open world, Far Cry 6 will definitely be a highlight in 2021.
